Every year before Christmas I receive Spekulatius biscuits from my brother. They are really special for me :-)
For those who didn't hear about them, Spekulatius is a Dutch/German Christmas cookie. Delicious crunchy biscuits, they are very thin, with different flavors, like cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and super cute shapes, like St. Nicholas, windmill, elephant, sheep...

Ciao Anita! As I grew up in The Netherlands I ate a lot of speculaas (that's how the Dutch call it). It is common to eat these delicious cookies around the 5th of December and also Christmas. Seeing these cookies is like going back to my childhood. Boyfriend and I love to see what you have done with the cookies! Speculaas S'mores....we definitely want to try that. We actually have all the ingredients in house! Maybe a nice afternoon snack today.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the recipe!!!
I am so glad that you like my idea. The best s'mores I ever had. Just the perfect combination of spice from the speculaas, smooth chocolate and that creamy marshmallow...hmmm
ReplyDeleteI still have speculaas, I keep them for special ocsions :-)
If you have any tip for me how to eat or use them I would be very happy. I like them with a cup of milk, I make s'mores or I sprinkle speculaas crumbles on greek yogurt with honey. Any recipe would apreciated.
Thank you for the nice comment.
